SHANGHAI GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP 2019 IN CHINA (B.SC, M.SC, Ph.D).

The Shanghai Government Scholarship Board (SGSB) is pleased to announce the commencement of her 2019 scholarship programme for non-Chinese students.

The scholarship is open for undergraduates, Master’s and Ph.D students.

The SGS was established in 2006 with the objective to encourage sound educational development of international students in Shanghai.

The Shanghai Government runs a full scholarship and partial scholarship, while the former covers all expense of the selected students, the later is only for tuition fee and medical insurance.

SCHOLARSHIP TYPE

The Shanghai government scholarship (SGS) 2019, is divided into two parts namely; type A and type B.

TYPE A (full scholarship)

The type A covers tuition fee, accommodation, medical insurance and flight fare for the selected applicants. The applicants will also enjoy monthly stipend in the following order;

Ph.D CNY3,500

M.Sc CNY3,000

Undergraduate CNY2,500

TYPE B (partial scholarship)

This type of scholarship will only take care of tuition fee and medical insurance.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

For an applicant to be successful, he/she must consider the following;

  • Must be a non-Chinese citizen
  • Applicant must be up to 18 years and above.
  • Applicants must have HSK-5 for those applying for courses taught in Chinese language.
  • Candidates for master’s must have a B.sc certificate and must be below 35 years.
  • Ph.D candidates must have M.sc and be under 40 years.
  • Applicants for B.sc must have high school diploma and under 25 years.

DOCTORATE

  • Provision of academic transcript (notarized photocopy)
  • B.sc and M.sc certificates (notarized photocopy)
  • Research plan written in English or in Chinese, not less than 800words.
  • HSK certificate (Chinese language test)
  • Two letters of recommendation by professors or assistant professors.
  • Data page of your passport
  • Abstract of your past researches (M.sc and B.sc).
  • Application fee 800RMB (online payment).

MASTER’S

  • Provision of academic transcript (notarized photocopy)
  • B.sc certificate (notarized photocopy)
  • Research plan written in English or in Chinese, not less than 800words.
  • HSK certificate (Chinese language test)

UNDERGRADUATE
